SequelMed EPMEC (or, the "Electronic Encounter") facilitates a faster transition to a full-blown EMR by doing electronic charge capture almost immediately after minimal training of staff on patient registration and scheduling flow. And, by having the charges go electronically and seamlessly into the practice management (SequelMed EPM) application, the transition to paperless environment is also expedited. The other benefit to starting with Electronic Encounter is that it allows the doctor to get acclimated to a full-blown EMR at a more comfortable pace. Once the physician has become acclimated to the Electronic Encounter, he/she can then start using the templates in a progressive manner.
